Quick Answer

You turn pro by buying a pro boxing license. In player runs, the shop required $5,000 and level 7 or higher; these runs include a prerelease build, so check your own license menu before spending — a post-launch run also called out level 7 as the point you can turn pro. Hitting level 7 doesn't promote you on its own: nothing changes until you buy the license. The Bruisers 2D Boxing amateur career builds toward that purchase, while the professional career has a Contenders ranking ladder.

How Does the Amateur Career Work in Bruisers 2D Boxing?

Train, fight your amateur bouts, and keep meals, weight, health and your job in order between fights. You don't pick amateur opponents — fights come pre-scheduled. One streamer went to schedule a fight and found: "Oh, wait. It is already It's already pre-scheduled in amateur." So check your next bout instead of looking for a matchmaking screen.

Between fights, work on your training and keep track of your money through jobs and earnings. In a prerelease run, stats went up two ways: training, and the point you get to assign every time you level up.

In amateur fights, land clean punches. The October 23, 2026 judging update made them the only thing amateur judges score.

Throwing more punches doesn't score on its own here. Volume without contact won't win you amateur rounds. For the wider fight-result rules, see knockouts and decisions.

The October 22, 2026 update increased training returns and made early amateur opponents a fairer match for starting skills. Older player experiences can differ in difficulty and growth speed.

When Can You Turn Pro in Bruisers 2D Boxing?

You can turn pro once you have $5,000 and reach level 7 — then buy the license in the boxing license shop. One streamer read the shop out loud: "Cost 5,000 and level seven or higher to be a pro… Cost you nothing to be an amateur."

Open the boxing license shop from the amateur career hub to check the pro license requirements.

These license conditions come from player runs, including a prerelease build. Check the requirements in your own license shop before committing your money.

To make the transition:

  1. Check your level and balance against the pro license requirements.
  2. Open the boxing license menu.
  3. Buy the pro boxing license when you want to turn professional.

In a prerelease run, buying the license made the fighter pro on the spot: "Let's buy the pro license. There we go. We're pro now. Record is 0-0-0."

The pro boxing license is purchased in the career license menu.

Qualifying doesn't force you to switch. That same player had the money and level 7, said "I can buy my pro boxing license now, but I'll do one more amateur fight," and took one more bout first. That was his choice — his extra fight and his amateur record aren't requirements.

What Changes After You Turn Pro?

Turning pro lets you pick your own opponents and starts a fresh professional record — your amateur wins don't carry over. As one streamer put it during an amateur fight: "Well, this is amateur. It doesn't count as a pro win."

The professional opponent selection menu lets you choose a matchup after turning pro.

For his debut, one prerelease player went easy on purpose: "it's not like the amateurs where I just fight with they put in front of me… we're going to fight the lowest ranked person." That's a cautious start, not a required first matchup.

Keep the license once you have it. Getting caught cheating can cost you the pro license — one streamer lost it after being caught, got it back, and was still ranked 33. Another skipped performance enhancers in the pros because there's "no point getting drug tested and failing in the pros and losing the pro license."

How Do You Move Up After Amateur Boxing?

The professional career uses a Contenders ranking ladder, with the October 21, 2026 career update introducing a 60-fighter list. It also includes scaling purses, retiring fighters, belt tracking, title defenses, and win-loss records.

Buying the pro license is what takes you out of amateur boxing. From there, your ranking and title chances run through that ladder.

The underground bareknuckle leagues are an alternative career route. For that option, see the underground bareknuckle circuit.

After your pro debut, head to titles and rankings for the next part of your career.
