UpdatesEarly Access

Quick Answer

The Early Access hotfix makes Easy more forgiving, speeds up career progression and adds a performance option. As of October 23, 2026, the latest Bruisers 2D Boxing update is Hotfix 10.22, released October 22, 2026 (UTC). You can switch the new performance option in display settings; it also detects automatically.

What changed in the latest Bruisers 2D Boxing update?

Hotfix 10.22 changes difficulty, career pacing, fight rules and Pugilist balance, alongside fixes for meals, controls and Quick Play.

Easy CPU fighters slip less and react more slowly, while your stamina drains less. Medium sits between the revised Easy and Hard. If you want more room to learn timing and manage stamina, Easy is the practical starting choice.

AreaHotfix 10.22 change
EasySlower CPU reactions, fewer slips, less stamina drain
MediumBetween revised Easy and Hard
PugilistBalance changes, including heavier builds
CPU BullyNo sidestepping
CPU BalancedNo probing
Broken handsFour times less likely

In Pugilist, CPU fighters can no longer use moves unavailable to you: Bully loses sidestepping and Balanced loses probing. For the styles themselves, see Bruisers 2D Boxing fighting styles.

Headbutts now accumulate across the whole fight rather than resetting each round. You and CPU fighters can be disqualified sooner, so a new round does not wipe away earlier headbutts.

How does the update change career progression?

Hotfix 10.22 makes early career progression faster through training changes, fairer amateur opponents and cheaper early healing.

Healing prices scale with your level: they are lower early in your career and higher as you progress. Aging also begins a bit later. Early amateur opponents are better matched to a new fighter's starting skills.

Auto training

Auto training gives results closer to mini-game training after this hotfix. Choose it when you want to progress without playing the training mini-game.

Normal training

Normal training offers the chance of bigger gains. It is the recommended choice when you want that opportunity and are willing to play the mini-game; auto training remains the convenient alternative. See Bruisers 2D Boxing training for the training systems.

Mob emails also behave differently:

  • Delete the dark web code before entering it, and it is sent again.
  • Enter the code, and it will not be sent again.
  • Lose access to the black market, and mob emails stop.

Those email changes matter if you accidentally delete an unused code. They do not mean a used code keeps returning.

What performance options and bug fixes does the update add?

Hotfix 10.22 adds an automatically detected performance option for lower-end machines, with a manual switch in display settings.

If you need the game to run faster, check that setting. The update also adds announcer lines between rounds and corrects several specific problems:

AreaFix
Quick PlayPlayer 1 regains control when player 2 backs out
MealsPrice calculated when buying the full meal
Fishing tutorialCorrect left or right movement instruction
Mac Bluetooth Xbox controllersCorrect button layout
Draw resultCentered result text
CommentaryCorrect knockdown description

Cancelling a dish no longer leaves a price calculated as though you selected two dishes. The full meal purchase is where the price is worked out.

The commentary fix concerns one fighter going down twice: the commentator no longer describes that as both fighters being knocked down.

What did the Early Access launch update add?

The October 21, 2026 launch update expanded career mode, combat, activities and controls compared with the June demo; Hotfix 10.22 followed on October 22.

Career and saves

The launch added guided Career Hub onboarding, in-ring tutorials for each style, fighter presets and a creation confirmation screen. Its rebuilt ladder has a 60-deep Contenders list, scaling purses, retiring fighters, belt tracking, title defenses and win-loss records, alongside a working rival system.

Injuries carry between fights, and you heal them on the health screen. That makes your condition between bouts matter, even with the hotfix's lower early healing costs. Follow Bruisers 2D Boxing injuries when you need help with health management.

Other launch additions include CPU weight management, auto training, skill point and XP feedback, expanded story emails, and automatic save backup and restore.

Combat and activities

The launch introduced cuts, swelling, blood effects and real-time injuries to hands, arms, jaw, head and body on the HUD. It also reworked damage, referee and doctor stoppages, stamina and heart rate, including late-round fatigue.

Judges have different types selected at random, with predicted scorecards between rounds. Pugilist arrived as the top difficulty. Pro fights gained a corner mini-game between rounds, while training and job mini-games received new presentation and high-score screens. Quick Play gained items, round-time options, and Hall of Fame and Custom character brackets.

Controls, display and languages

The launch added full keyboard support, custom control mapping and dynamic controller icons for PS4, PS5, Xbox and Switch Pro controllers. Mac support arrived with fullscreen, windowed and borderless display choices that remember your last selection.

Spanish, Italian, German, French and Portuguese localization came with an in-game language selector. Menus, career screens and the fight HUD were overhauled, including an option to toggle the HUD.
